President Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States on Tuesday, January 20. With his much-anticipated inauguration finally come and gone, we can start looking at the long road ahead. The largest looming problem on this road is by far the state of the American economy.
The United States of America is at an impasse. Congress, pressed by President Obama to act quickly to prevent "catastrophe," is on the verge of spending more than $800 billion on a "fiscal stimulus package" intended to jumpstart the economy, with roughly $300 billion in tax rebate checks and $500 billion in infrastructure spending.
Did you know that if we made a copy of our solar system to scale and Jupiter were the size of the period at the end of this sentence, Pluto would be 35 feet away from the sun? This fact scares the crap out of me. There is so much space out there. And it is filled with so little.
