When a team has 25 losses in one season as CSU did last year, there are going to be plenty of chances for revenge the next season.

After throttling the Grizzlies of Montana last Friday, the CSU men's basketball team hopes to exact revenge on some Bears when their nearest rival, the University of Northern Colorado comes knocking on Moby Arena's doors on Nov.

After two and a half months of intramural flag football chaos, it all came down to championship games on Sunday. Eight teams came to play, but only four were crowned champions. After it was all said and done, I had guessed 7 out of the 8 teams that made it to the championships, but only went 1 for 3 on my championship picks, guessing the co-rec champion correctly.

The 2008 women's Oredigger Soccer team secured their first National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament invitation in the program's history on November 10. That alone would give them plenty to cheer about, yet, in addition to that historical statistic, they are also fifth seed in the division.

It's amazing the difference a season can make. A year ago today, the CSU Rams were 2-9 with no hope of a bowl game. Three hundred and sixty five days later, the Rams are 5-6, one win away from bowl eligibility and have a possible road to the post season in their sights.

The Star Report: Farris leads Rams in turnaround season

For four years, Billy Farris watched from the sideline, patiently waiting his turn.

After redshirting as a walk-on in 2004, he spent a majority of the next three years on the bench. When he did find the field, he was simply put in to mop up the garbage left behind by the starters.

It's anybody's game

In the first week of the playoffs, there were upsets all across the board. Teams who have been playing under the radar all season long have finally decided to turn it on .I am really excited to see some more low ranked teams knock off the big boys. In my brackets, out of the total 37 games played, I guessed 30 correctly. That's 81%, not shabby at all. In this piece, I am going to give you my teams rising with momentum, teams needing to pick up their game, and my surprise teams coming into the final week before the championships. I will also give you my prediction of the teams that I believe will bring home the championship. Don't forget about registration this week for the racquetball, badminton, and turkey tug-o-war tournaments on Tuesday and Wednesday. Volleyball and 3v3 basketball playoffs start this week as well.

Your lady Orediggers volleyball team entered Friday's tournament with an impressive 12-5 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play. Yet, as the ladies prepare to head off to compete in the regional tournament (November 14, 15 and 16), they encountered a minor tangle in the net Friday in the second-to-last regular season game against Regis University. That record is not surprising, since yesterday, Kaity Edmiston (junior) was named to ESPN The Magazine's third team academic all-district team. Elizabeth Serra-Hsu (sophomore) made sure that her teammate wasn't the only one to receive accolades and, on November 3, was named the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week. This tribute was a follow up to her October 20 RMAC Offensive Player of the Week and August 29th RMAC Defensive Player of the Week accomplishments. Sophomore Kirstie Bunting also had the honor of being named the RMAC defensive player of the week October 6. Quite an accomplishment, ladies!
